Club Information
The Academic Spell Bowl is an extracurricular club for students who have an interest in spelling and a desire to compete while utilizing their knowledge. Students in this club will meet once per week after school during the first semester only and practice spelling words from a list provided by the Indiana Association of School Principals. A competition will be held in November for area schools.
Eligibility
The Academic Spell Bowl is open to all fourth and fifth grade students. In the fall, Northview will host a spell bowl for all students who are interested in trying out for the official spell bowl team. From the Northview Spell Bowl, the top ten spellers will go on to comprise the competitive Academic Spell Bowl team who will represent Mississinewa at the regional competition.
Expectations
Students on the Academic Spell Bowl team must demonstrate a willingness and desire to increase their knowledge of spelling difficult words. They should attend all practices unless absent from school or if a parent makes contact with the school prior to the practice. Students will need transportation from school to home after practices.
